Righteousness is a position. When you become saved you are considered in right standing with God. The word says, "Abraham believed God and it was credited to him as righteousness" (Romans ; Genesis ).

No one is considered righteous based on their behavior. Their righteousness is based on their belief in Jesus Christ (Romans ). Two things that every human being absolutely must come to understand are the holiness of God and the sinfulness of man.

Everyone who profanes it shall surely be put to death; for whoever does any work on. Typically, most Christians think of righteousness and ethical purity when they hear the term holy.

After all, God’s Word in many passages associates holiness with righteous living and being cleansed from sin (2 Cor. ; 1 Peter –16). Righteousness, in its basic meaning, is something that is straight without any deviation.

But holiness is more in the realm of being separate, set aside for something special. Holiness is an attribute that man must have if he is to see the Lord Heb. Those who stand before God in love must be holy and without blame Eph. “Thy righteousness is an everlasting righteousness.” Psalm “The righteous Lord loveth righteousness.” Psalm “There is no unrighteousness in Him.” Psalm COR Regarding the nature of righteousness, the Scriptures are most explicit.

It is set forth as the very opposite of sin, and is associated with holiness. HOLINESS, AND GLORY Paul was an excellent writer and his thought was very deep. In the book of Romans Paul firstly covers the subject of condemnation and then proceeds to cover justification, sanctification, and glorification.

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, For they shall be filled. (Matthew ) I am beginning to see more and more that the Lord is always taking us through situations to help us become more dependent upon Him, to trust Him more, He is ever increasing our faith.

Here we have four important words: dispensation, righteousness, holiness, and glory. As we pointed out in the foregoing message, Paul does not use the word dispensation in Romans.

Nevertheless, the fact of God’s dispensation is implied throughout this book. righteousness, holiness, and glory, on the contrary, are dealt with by Paul explicitly. Some believers have confuse holiness for righteousness, assuming that there's no difference between both.

Though often used by many interchangeably, holiness is not the same as righteousness and the difference between the two needs to be clear. Holiness is a place in God; a condition. When God sanctifies something, whether its a place, a person.

That is, God will empower us to live the kinds of righteous lives he calls us to live. Thus, in this last section of the book, Isaiah was combining his two treatments of righteousness: (1) we should live upright lives that reflect God’s intended order for life (justice) because (2) he, in saving us, will impart his righteousness to us.
